AP/TS TET (టెట్ పేపర్ I, పేపర్ IIల) సిలబస్, చదవాల్సిన పుస్తకాలపై పూర్తి విశ్లేషణ

Complete Analysis of the Syllabus and Recommended Books for TET Paper I and Paper II.

Candidates' marks in the TET eligibility test are crucial for the teacher recruitment exam. It is essential to thoroughly study the syllabus and focus on revision, model tests, rectifying mistakes, and corrective study. Those who have set aside their books thinking that the exam may not happen soon should not waste time. They should continue their studies chapter-wise with dedication. In this limited time, practice with alertness and skill is necessary. Instead of delving into new topics, it is important to repeatedly revise past topics. Focus should mainly be on model tests. Not only the answers to the questions that were incorrect but also the concepts related to them should be studied with understanding.

Candidates should primarily focus on child development and pedagogy in Paper-1 and Paper-2. They should study questions related to knowledge, comprehension, and application in detail. In this section, candidates face difficulties in selecting the correct answers due to doubts that arise. Overcoming these requires extensive study and deep analysis.

1. Human Development - Principles, Piaget, Kohlberg, Chomsky, Carl Rogers' theories, individual differences, intelligence tests, theories of personality development, protective mechanisms, child development study methods.
2. Learning theories, memory and forgetting.
3. Various child-centered approaches, guidance, mentoring, continuous comprehensive evaluation, NCERT-2005, RTE-2009.

There is a higher chance of questions related to concepts that have been repeated in past papers. Therefore, focus should be on such fundamental concepts.

Example-1: What are the tests used to observe characteristics of a person's unconscious? (3)
1. Diagnostic measures
2. Personality inventories
3. Projective tests
4. Interviews

Example-2: Which of the following does not apply to teaching principles? (2)
1. From simplicity to complexity
2. From practicality to generalization
3. From known to unknown
4. From concrete to abstract
Analyzing the simplicity of these two questions indicates that understanding the subject matter requires analysis.

Teaching Methods

In Papers 1 and 2, teaching methods should include objectives, clarifications (related to the subject), teaching approaches (with a greater emphasis on child-centered methods), educational planning, characteristics of textbooks, teaching-learning materials, characteristics of a good teacher, continuous comprehensive evaluation, and key characteristics of a good test.

Example-1: What aspects should a test measure to satisfy its purpose? (2)
1. Reliability
2. Validity
3. Practicality
4. Analytical quality

Biology

While revising biology, one should consider the body, surroundings, and surrounding plants. This saves time and allows for easier recall of answers to questions. In this context, the focus should be on the following topics in Biology Paper-1 and Paper-2.
Biology Paper-1: During the revision of Biology Paper-1, focus should be on flowers, their parts; fertilization; digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and excretory systems in animal physiology.

Biology Paper-2: When studying this paper, it is easier to remember topics if they are studied in depth and in an application-based manner, relating them to our body and surroundings. In this regard, in animal physiology..

‣ Digestive, respiratory, circulatory, excretory, nervous, and reproductive systems should be studied in depth.
‣ While revising the digestive system, studying nutrition will also help in easy recall.
‣ When studying environmental science, examine food chains, pyramids, pollution, and cycles in some depth.
‣ In botany, the structure of flowers and fertilization is important.
‣ Common aspects of animal and plant sciences such as cell structure, organelles, and cell division can be completed simultaneously with slight variations.

1. What is referred to as the powerhouse of plant cells?
a) Mitochondria  b) Chloroplast  c) Golgi apparatus  d) Ribosomes (a)

Physics

For those who have studied mathematics at a degree level, physics will be somewhat easier. The questions here will involve analysis, applicability, and problem-solving.

Mainly in physics - sound, electricity, light, electronics, modern physics, and mechanics.
In chemistry - solutions, industries, and periodic tables should be studied. Scientists, inventions, tables - standards, problem-solving, etc. should be studied based on past question papers and with analysis.

Social Studies

In the social sciences section, both Papers 1 and 2 require fundamental concepts along with understanding and analytical study.
‣ The order of study importance should be geography, history, civics, and economics.
‣ In geography, knowledge of landforms, various countries in the world, geographical terminology, and familiarity with maps is essential.
‣ In history, the medieval history of India should be focused on, especially on dynasties, living conditions, culture, poets, literature, and monuments.
‣ In civics and economics, fundamental concepts should be studied in coordination with current topics.
Example: Human rights, Information Rights Act, Inclusive growth.

English

Overall, in English, special attention should be paid to comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, and grammar. Parts of speech, sentences, prepositions, articles, degrees of comparison, question tags, composition, and letter writing should be focused on. TET-1 candidates should concentrate on the fundamentals.
TET-2 candidates need to practice phrases and clauses specifically. There is a possibility of 3 to 4 questions on these.
Special attention is needed on synthesis and need to improve (error detection). Practicing with the books by S. Chand and Agarwal will be beneficial. For vocabulary, textbooks for classes 8 and 9 should be studied.

Telugu

In TET, Telugu occupies the second position after 'Child Development - Pedagogy.' Among the 24-mark content, poets, poetry, and unfamiliar prose pieces are followed by a significant emphasis on grammar. This includes verbs - types, sentences - types, sentence structure, chronological order, conversion to modern language, standard writing forms, arts, direct and indirect speech, parts of speech, tenses, genders, cases, punctuation, conjunctions, compounds, nature - forms, antonyms, synonyms, polysemous words, etymological meanings, short stories, proverbs, nationalities, meter, and figures of speech should be focused on.
Based on past question papers, there appears to be a need for a deep understanding of unfamiliar prose, semantic development, and word order.
General understanding of conjunctions, compounds, meter, and figures of speech is sufficient.

The teaching methods for TET-1 and TET-2 are the same. However, for TET-1, if they additionally gain expertise in Telugu literature, it will be easier to achieve marks.
